When God Made Adam and Eve
When God Made Adam and Eve
When God made Adam and Eve, He put them in Eden to live
And showed them all around and said “All of this, I will give.”
“But eat not from the tree in the midst, this rule you must live by!
For in the day you eat from it, you will sure-ly die.”
But Satan was in the garden, in the form of a snake
He told Eve she’d be wise as God, if one bite she would take.
She saw that it was good for food, a delight to the eyes,
And even more importantly, it would make one wise.
So she took from it’s fruit and gave Adam from it too.
And then their eyes were opened, they were naked, they knew.
They heard the sound of the Lord, their God, walking in the cool of the day
They sewed some fig leaves for themselves and tried to hide away.
And the Lord God called to Adam and said, “Where are you?”
“I was afraid … I was naked … and I hid myself from you.”
“Who told you you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree?”
“She gave me from the tree to eat … the woman you gave me!”
And the Lord God said to Eve, “What is this you have done?”
“The serpent … he deceived me … of the tree, I ate one.”
God pronounced a curse as He turned to each … gave them tunics made of skin
and drove them from the garden — couldn’t live there again!
When God made Adam and Eve, He put them in Eden to live
And showed them all around and said “All of this, I will give.”
“But eat not from the tree in the midst, this rule you must live by!
For in the day you eat from it, you will sure-ly die.”
